About This Project
Taking Root is a vibrant mural that transforms the interior of the BMO Legacy Branch, Alberta with its striking imagery and warm colour palette. The mural is inspired by themes of diversity and empathy while incorporating elements of the local community in the form of human silhouettes and the skyline of Calgary.
Another important theme is the idea of growth, which is symbolized through the use of floral and plant motifs that flow through the entire artwork and tie all the silhouettes together.
