A STEPS PROJECT
Worldwide board game CATAN hired STEPS to bring the first Canadian CATAN-inspired mural to Canada at Toronto’s Snakes & Lattes College board game bar and restaurant. The unique artwork by local artist Jinke Wang showcases elements inspired by the famous CATAN board game.

About this mural
STEPS facilitated a Call for Artist in Toronto to engage with a local artist and bring the first ever CATAN mural to Canada! Artist Jinke Wang was selected to animate the building of Snakes & Lattes and bring CATAN’s vision to life.
Wondering Spring is a one-of-a-kind mural that presents a surreal and dreamlike scene within the world of CATAN, where characters gather in joyous celebration of the arrival of spring. Covering exterior panels along the sides of the Snakes & Lattes board game bar and restaurant, the artwork incorporates enchanting landscapes and characters, blending the realms of nature and fantasy.
About the artist
Jinke Wang
Lead Artist
Jinke Wang graduated from OCAD University with a Bachelor’s degree in Illustration in 2018. His work is driven by creativity and he is skilled in working with various illustration styles. He currently works as a freelance artist in Canada, creating commercial illustrations, large murals, and posters. Jinke’s work showcases the beauty and the flow of lines that corresponds to the spirit of liberty and prosperity.
