ARTIST INFORMATION
Absen aka John McPartland, originally from Saint John, NB, is an artist who has been working out of Halifax for the past 8 years. He is a mechanical engineer by trade, but his true passion is his art. He initially started with graffiti and later moved onto oil painting. His art is a unique blend of classical oil painting and street art murals, ranging between realism and abstract. He aims to continue working in three categories; larger, more complex and realistic oil paintings, realism and abstract blended oil paintings as well more mural art work that will take him to mural festivals around the world.
