Ann

Born in 1975, Ann Murphy has been creating art since she was a child. Throughout her career as a self-taught artist, Murphy has explored a wide variety of techniques such as drawing, painting, carpentry, and sculpture. At the age of 25, while establishing herself as an artist, she completed a degree in interior design, to round out her arsenal of skills.

She has participated in a multitude of Art Fairs as well as art shows across Quebec. With a particular penchant for animal subjects, Murphy indulges her love of pattern and over-the-top composition, which she has come to be known for. Infusing each inch with personality and soul her artwork is bold and unapologetic. Recently she has begun to explore abstract works with a strong aesthetic for colour and minimalist composition. The present work reflects another side of the artist demonstrating her capacity to create what she describes as a more stripped-down work of art. Each style is relevant and uniquely recognizable as Ann Murphy.
