ARTIST AT A GLANCE
Location: Toronto, Ontario
Available For Project Types:
Toronto based artist Duncan C. McLean has been experimenting with digital imagery since the mid-1980s. In his current practice he is exploring ultra-low resolution digital photography and the interplay between pixels and their content.
McLean’s subject matter often includes architectural elements of the urban landscape. High-rise office towers, condos and apartment buildings, or neighbourhood street-level storefronts all become objects of study and interpretation. He uses a distinctive hard edge rendering technique to examine the dynamic tension between pattern and form. His unique digital workflow allows images to be quickly scaled to any size without loss of detail or resolution.
Duncan C. McLean’s work has been exhibited in Toronto and Los Angeles and can be found in private and corporate collections throughout Canada.
