ARTIST INFORMATION
A painter and digital artist, Janet lives and works in Toronto.
She earned a BFA in painting from Queen’s University, then took a short, but absorbing thirty-year detour into graphic design, typography, animation, game creation, web design, and photography. Each of these disciplines has contributed to her current artistic practice. In 2016 Janet returned to fine art and has been building her studio practice since then.
Taylor’s work draws from her close observations of our physical world. Whether working in paint or creating digital prints, lines and shapes distilled from nature are abstracted and become a visual language for exploring our stories and connections.
Taylor has exhibited most recently at Akasha Art Projects and the Artist Project 2020, and has been commissioned to create a public work for the Daniels Du East project. Her work is held in collections in the US, Canada and the UK, and has been seen in Style at Home and Uppercase magazines and on HGTV Home Tours.
