Justin

Justin Blayney is a Toronto-based artist and graphic designer. He uses geometric shapes and pixelated patterns to create optical illusions in his figural and abstract acrylic paintings, portraits, and figures. Blayney studied painting at the Dundas Valley School of Art, and he has exhibited widely across Ontario.

Blayney views his work as a reflection of how we view life; when we are close to a situation, we can get lost in the small details, but when we step back, we can see the whole picture and everything becomes clear. Blayney’s artwork starts in Photoshop, allowing him to fully realize his vision from start to finish. He is particularly interested in mimicking how computers generate images.
