ARTIST INFORMATION
Kirsten McCrea draws obsessively, adores adornment, makes art accessible, & collaborates often. She has been creating murals and public art installations for over a decade, in cities spanning the globe.
Her art has been exhibited in the Art Gallery of Ontario (Toronto), Montreal's Musée des Beaux Arts, and many private galleries, and has appeared in festivals such as the Yorkville Murals Festival, Pangeaseed’s Seawalls, and The Shanghai International Arts Festival. Kirsten has painted large-scale murals for clients such as Facebook, Cirque du Soleil, Converse, The W Hotel, and lululemon.
Recently, she has created a large-scale mural for Columbia College in Chicago (Listen to Learn), a painted underpass in Toronto’s East End (Like A River), a permanent public art commission for a new LRT Station in Edmonton (You Are Here), and an immersive installation investigating the role of pollution in Toronto’s key waterways (Elegy for Lake Ontario).
Kirsten's art practice is multi-disciplinary, but revolves around a central goal: to produce work that is well-crafted, visually appealing, and meaningful.
