About This Project
A Helping Hand is a series of two interior murals by Ottawa-based artist and illustrator, Dominic Laporte, which blends imagery of the Ottawa landscape with themes of sustainability, community, inclusion and creativity.
The first mural located in the ATM vestibule depicts imagery of a family flying a kite together juxtaposed with iconic monuments in Ottawa.
The second mural was inspired by a community garden as a nod to the pursuit of sustainability and environmentally conscious actions, as well as a variety of local businesses in Barrhaven.
