About Brampton BOXED–Traffic Box Art Project (2023)

Through the success of the City of Brampton’s traffic box pilot project, traffic boxes were animated in 2023 by local artists. STEPS managed a Call for Artists that received over 80 digital artwork submissions.

Ten artists were selected for this paid opportunity with their artwork being shown at street corners across Brampton.

About the City of Brampton’s Traffic Box Pilot Project (2021)

In 2021, the City of Brampton worked with STEPS Public Art to feature artwork from the “Postcard Project–Your Artist Story” initiative by the Brampton Arts Organization (formerly known as the Arts, Culture & Creative Industry Development Agency). This project asked artists to submit work that explores their connection to the city and captures the spirit and stories of Brampton.

Submissions by local artists Aditi Kashyap, Amye St John, Annmarie Claudette, Malachi Watson-Narcisse, and Michel Nwoye-Vincent were selected to animate traffic boxes across Brampton.
