About Matinee Overlay
A city, by definition, is a complex system of people, buildings, infrastructure and nature. However, the layers of a place are not only physical, but also cultural and emotional. The Matinee Overlay exhibit by artist Rachel Wilmshurst incorporates organic and geometric forms to visually represent the many layers that make up the city. Each layer represents a moment in time, a story, a memory.
